Prenatal Yoga

Many expecting mothers find activities that will help them to connect with their unborn child.  Many parents find it beneficial to listen to soothing music with their child by placing speakers around the mothers tummy.  Other parents find it helpful to talk to their child as if it were present.  It is now becoming extremely popular for expecting mothers to perform prenatal yoga because it allows them to connect with their unborn child.  Because yoga aims to form a connection between mind and body, it allows expecting mothers to form a unique connection with the unborn child within them.  Most mothers who perform yoga during pregnancy develop a stronger connection to their child’s feelings and needs.

Over the nine months of your pregnancy your body will change and develop in many ways.  changes can be as simple as feeling your baby move, feeling the life force that is growing in your womb, or even sensing what your baby needs before he or she has left the safety of the womb.  Prenatal yoga will help you better adjust to these changes by forming a connection between your body and mind and that of your unborn baby.  This connection gives you a strong bond with your growing baby, a bond that will continue to develop after the birth of your child.  Being aware is the best gift you could give yourself and your baby. It is a connection that will last you well into your child's life.

Prenatal yoga incorporates a series of slow and rhythmic movements that are easy for expecting mothers and safe for babies.  It is extremely beneficial and provides mother with strong and limber muscles, improvement of balance and circulation, and stronger mind and will power.  All of these things are great to develop during pregnancy because each will make labor easier and less painful.  You can find yoga classes for expecting mothers or even purchase a yoga DVD so you can move at your own pace.  It is important that you practice with extreme caution and safety in mind.  While yoga is beneficial in all forms there are certain poses and movements that should not be attempted while pregnant.
